'85 C10 Steering Column Interchange Question - Wipers

I have read about every thread on her about column interchanges, but can't find this specific issue mentioned.

I've got an '85 C10, 2wd, auto on the column, 2 speed wipers. I want to switch to a tilt wheel, and have a line on one from an '89 Suburban in perfect condition, but there's one difference: it has pulse/delay wipers. For anyone that's run into this, would I still be looking at a plug-and-play install of the wiring connectors, and it would simply ignore the pulse/delay?

Re: '85 C10 Steering Column Interchange Question - Wipers

The column will swap in except for the delay module. There is a connector on the bottom of the column near the dash board for the wipers. The delay module goes between those connectors and works with the delay wiper switch for the pulse function.

If the 89 column has the delay module, just hook it up and you will have pulse wiper since the wiper switch is already mounted in the 89 column.

If the 89 column does not come with the delay module, you will have to change the wiper switch and turn signal lever to a non-pulse one.

I added mine when I changed columns and it works great with my stock wiper motor. The module looks like this:

Re: '85 C10 Steering Column Interchange Question - Wipers

Thanks for the reply. Yes, the column has the module. Matter of fact, the Suburban is so nice, I'm really surprised the guy is going to part it. I'm going to pick it up Saturday (he's just now starting to pull the truck apart), and for the price - $175 - I think I'll be OK, even if there's some tweaking to do.
