What did y'all think about Super Chevy Show- Indy?

For those of you who went to super chevy in indy sunday, what did you think? There were some awesome trucks there of all years. I went, participated, got a runner up award, it was a fun day..... But I thought the show was very small compared to previous years. In fact, it seemed that most people that entered a car got an award because they wanted to get rid of the excess plaques. The plaques alone were not as nice as last years. The classes got smaller during the day, that's why I think that they wanted to unload the extra awards. The vendor and swap meet area seemed a lot smaller too. Do you guys think ticket prices and registration fees are getting too high? Do you think the weather forecast had anything to do with it?- it rained like hell around 215. Do you think that guys like me that don't have $50,000 in their vehicle gave up on trying to compete?

I wasn't at Indy but I have to say Super Chevy shows are going to chit. They always were a bunch of rude b@stards anyway, but now they are cheap too. The classes have been cut way back and they don't give jackets now.
I'll give it one more shot at Baytown this fall. If it sucks as bad as the past couple of shows, then I'm done with them. Yes, the prices are too high....

I was surprised at how many vendors and how big the swap meet was. Wish I could have spent more time walking around there. The price to get in and show your truck is about $25 bucks cheaper than the 4Wheel Off Road Jamb' there in Indy but has about 1/5 th of the vehicles that the Jamb' does. Someone said there was maybe a Good Guys Show somewhere close that hurt the attendance at this show. They had lots of caps to choose from

Well, personally i didnt care for the high cost of getting into the show. And for that reason i will not attend again.
But i enjoyed meeting some new board members. And some members i have already met. I always enjoy that.
The swap meet area was VERY small compared to what i usally go to. I was shocked at the small selection of parts. There was a Goodguys event in Columbus, Ohio which isnt that far away.
I hate paying $5.00 to get into the swapmeets my way. I REALLY hated paying $32.00 for a weekend pass. If you just went on Saturday it was $22.00!!!!!!!!!!!!! That was rediculous.
For next year i hope we can just go to Pauls place. Which is only about 35 miles from Indy. Or something can be worked out i am sure. Hell, i had more fun hanging out with members at the hotel that i did at the Super Chevy show.

I probably wouldnt enter my truck again if the members are there. I didnt get to spend the time I would have liked with them. I had to pretty much stick around the truck both Sat and Sun........$22 is pretty much for one day.

I went as a vender in the used parts swap area and to sell my red/white truck. The meet was not what I hoped for business wise as the weather and the Columbus Good guys was probably a better bet. What ticked me off was the folks who ran the show did a really poor job. You had to wait on line to get in even if you had registered on thursday and had a spot----. They never cracked down on all the jerks on mopeds, 4x4s, and golf carts running around like crazy with one "event staff" jerk going up and down the road at gatte 2 as fast as he could for 3 days!!! This is/was a lawsuit just waiting to happen and I hope it does and they loose their butts.
The positive side was meeting all the board members---hanging with them and trying to remember all the screwey board names/faces. THAT was great! Seeing Tim, Paul, and their stuff was also fun as it's always nice to see tons of new stuff and DRULLLL!

Did find a couple of bargins which kind of softened the frustration and hanging with friends is always great fun. Now if I had a $ for everyone who loved the red/white truck------now that would have been financially rewarding! Huck

Got the word on Todd72 this morning and really bummed me out. Makes awards and shows really meaningless. I think they really care about the Camaros, Chevell's, Nova's and Vettes. Maybe they could care less if trucks came or not LOL. Sometimes I get that feeling at shows. They do care about trucks at the All Truck Nationals in KC..
