Hood catch issue...need help.
So, I'm finally getting around to mounting the hood catch in the front panel now I've got some paint on the old girl and I confused .... when mounted to the upper rad cover panel the handle comes down on the right. Problem is ... you can move it to open the catch and release the hood...

What's the difference in the front panel, can I just notch it or is the catch totally different |

Re: Hood catch issue...need help.
I'd modify the hood latch before the front panel. Someone should be able to weld in a small section to move the handle lower. Weld up near the latch and use vice-grips as a heat sink and it's possible the handle itself will look fine when finished.

Re: Hood catch issue...need help.
You need a 38-604 hood latch rather than a 38-603. 604 is 58/59 while 603 is 55/57.
38-603 55/57 on top 38-604 on Bottom I think 1project2many spotted it and nailed the handle needs to be bent/straightened to clear. as I think that is the only difference in the two. Note Classic parts showed the front side of the 603 and the back side of the 604.

Re: Hood catch issue...need help.
You could bend it where I put the orange arrow but it might be better to bend it down where I put the green line similar to what it appears the correct one is bent.
You can get some different views on this on one Ebay. https://www.ebay.com/i/254514521173
