Radiator pads
I keep reading that the new pads are made whereby they don't crush as easily as the original. Thereby making the top metal brackets install at an angle.
Does anyone know of where pads might be purchased that install OK. Going to be installing new radiator and my original ones are in very baaad shape. Thanks |

Re: Radiator pads
Have you checked with your local Chevrolet dealer?
Several years ago I ordered new GM 4 row pads when I moved to a larger radiator. GM used them in many models over decades of production.

Re: Radiator pads
HO455
I tried Chevy dealer - girl said their system just goes back to 1982. When I asked if they had a cross/reference manual I just got a blank stare. The only thing I could find in the old parts manual this site has was something called a radiator cushion - not pad. I will admit I don't know how to use manual very well. Do you happen to have a GM number for 1970 3 row pads? Thanks |

Re: Radiator pads
This photo shows the 4 row cushions i got from GM. Unfortunately I don't have the 3 row number. I got them from Wentworth Chevrolet here in Portland. You may have to find an old GM number so that they can look it up for the new replacement number. I can also look in my Hollander Interchange when I get home to see if there is more information for you.
