Question Name That Mystery Rattle!

1971 C20 with A/C.

I have a rattle, sounds like something is just hanging by a screw and banging against the firewall. This is inside the cab and sounds like it is behind the glove box and just forward of the A-pillar.

Anyone know what this rattle could be?

I've put my hand on things while driving and it does not mute the rattle. I also opened the glove box and held the door stop. No change.

Could this be an HVAC door or something? Maybe it is outside under the cowl? Sure sounds like it in the cab though...

Any advice or pointers is appreciated! Thanks!

Re: Name That Mystery Rattle!

There is a air baffle inside the cowl above the glove box. Mine was broken on my K5 . I don't remember a rattle because of it.

Re: Name That Mystery Rattle!

Thanks!, that's a good suggestion.

I'm also going to check the fresh air door assembly on the passenger side kick panel. I took the door out a few months back to clean the crud out of the cowl.
