Thanks for the info. I mostly just want to stop the rust from getting worse. I don’t mind leaving the the problem areas patched. I wanted to clear over the existing paint anyway, so if I clear over repaired areas that’s ok.

The goo gone worked on the dash. I had to use the graffiti remover for the part that was painted black. I had to cut it short so I wasn’t able to get it finished. I still prefer the cracked dash to the glued on carpet look.

I got about 3/4 of the way done, but I forgot to take a picture of that. This is a picture about halfway through.
