Gear shifter....
Need idea's on how to mount this gear shifter idea.
I bought these last week at the beach. Need to get some idea's on how to mount it. I got a bolt and ordered a set of couplers to extend it up a little higher in the truck. The threads are 3/8" x24. I need some idea's on how to mount it with out having the nut in it's head.

Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs. |

Re: Gear shifter....
Why dont you want a nut inside the head ? My experience is without a nut and locking nut the shift ball will start to rotate . Guess JBWELD would work but without metal threads it will ware out and strip

Re: Gear shifter....
Fill it full of JB weld. Install a helicoil. JB weld drills and taps. Then it can be screwed down and anchored with a jam nut.

Re: Gear shifter....
I don't want anything to be seen on the outside of it. Not worried about inside it. I didn't want to drill the top of it to do a nut are bolt.
JB weld may be a idea. I also may could use plumbers roll also. It can be drilled and tapped also.

Re: Gear shifter....
I temporarily have the skull mounted and wired into the lights. I'm thinking I need to round the wood off and countersink to fit the shifter rod better than the square end.
