Steering Column

My 67 has an aftermarket chrome steering column that was installed by a previous owner. I have a bad turn signal switch and need to replace it. Is there a way to tell what switch to purchase? I do know that the column does have "Tilt". I have heard that it might be the same as a square body column but I am not sure how to tell.

That is where I first called. they said I need to know what switch is installed to be able to order the correct replacement. which is why I was wondering how i can tell what I have.

Re: Steering Column

The guy over at American Autowire wasn't sure, but thought it might be this one.

Re: Steering Column

You can be assured that the switch wasn't manufactured just for an aftermarket column. They used and existing switch. With the safety ramifications the research and development would have been prohibitive.

Re: Steering Column

The 4 way flasher knob is not for a 67 to 72 model. Looks like a 73 on up. Look at the electrical connector and see if that will give you any clue into what it is.

Re: Steering Column

I'm going to say that looks an awful lot like an IDIDIT steering column. I have 2 of those, one chrome like yours, and a plain steel one.
