Re: LS3 with 6L80e
The 6l80e should have a TCM inside of it. That said, how are you planning to hook the transfer case up to it?

Re: LS3 with 6L80e
Advanced Adapter makes a 6L80e kit to a 205
Might switch back to a 4L80e as the Holley Terminator Wiring Harness wont support a 6L80 is what they are saying

Re: LS3 with 6L80e
Yep, you heard right, Holley doesn't support 6l80's for some reason.

Re: LS3 with 6L80e
GM Performance sells an LS3/6L80 connect and cruise package. The ecm/harness might be available separately. The tcm will most likely have to be flashed to communicate with ecm. I have motor (LSA) /trans (6L90) and ecm from the same car. So hoping it will be somewhat easy. There are standalone 6L80/90 controllers available now. No idea how well they operate.

Re: LS3 with 6L80e
You're basically running a stock setup for a AFM-deleted 2010-15 auto-trans Camaro. I would suggest buying a factory engine harness and a e38 ECM, pare the harness down as needed, and get it dyno-tuned. You'll be a lot happier with the results than messing around with aftermarket controllers and downgrading to a four-speed.

Re: LS3 with 6L80e
I'm back on the 6L80e train...…. have a lead on one with a 208 case already attached with a stand alone PSI harness.
Will there need to be any tunnel work done? will it fit under a stock high hump 4x4 tunnel?

Re: LS3 with 6L80e
6L has an extra gear in between drive and od. The drop in the 4L is to to large imo. I have a 4L in a heavy work truck. You will probably need a driver drop front axle if planning to keep the 208. Would not use the 208 myself, especially in the slip yoke configuration. Trans will most likely clear with high hump. Girth about the same as 4L, maybe slightly smaller. Maybe a bit longer? Not sure, know the 6l90 is longer. Clearance really depends on motor mounts/crossmember. Using adapter plates at engine mounts can raise engine a bit and have pan clearance problems as well. Have seen some small issues with the Dirty Dingo crossmember. Am using the Tilden/Pacific Fab crossmember myself. Have yet to install. Another member recently had said they were impossible to get a hold of.

Re: LS3 with 6L80e
What's the issues with the 208 ( this is a passenger drop one that aligns with my dana 60 however)? Is it just the slip yoke ?

Re: LS3 with 6L80e
Yes, low range in 208 is lower than 205. My reasons, I guess mainly the slip yoke. Had a 208 in my 85 with a 10" lift. Then there is the chain, cast aluminum construction. Guess I am old school. 205 is gear driven, cast iron, bullet proof. The 6l has a generously low first gear. I decided to re-use the 205 in my 72.
