Griffin Radiator
Has anyone used a Griffin direct fit radiator for their squarebody and found it to be truly "direct fit?" Just wanting to verify before I drop $600 plus dollars. I tried to order one of Dewitts direct fit radiators for our trucks and it was too tall to fit in the stock brackets. I think there is an issue where companies have used a later model square body (mid 80's?) for their R&D and there are differences that make them incompatible with early models. Specifically in the upper mount. Seems the earlier models use a one piece top rail and later ones use two individual top mounts. I have the style below. In the pic is the Dewitt alongside the OE Harrison unit which would not fit due to the obvious height difference.

Re: Griffin Radiator
Looks like it was built on the big block rad specs and top plate. The bigg block top plate does not dip down like the sbc mount in the 73-80 plate. At least thats been my experience. When i swapped a diesel in my truck the diesel rad was too big and i had to use the BBC upper support.

Re: Griffin Radiator
in my opinion ZERO of these rads are direct fit as they all require custom mount options .
if they just added 4 tabs to drop in the stock mounts i would be happy . they all need to go back to the drawing board and understand DROP IN and its definition
