1991 Suburban Speed Hut Speedo install problem
Hey Guys,
I have just installed a Speed Hut electronic speedometer in my 1991 V1500 Suburban. 5.7 TBI, 700R4, 241 transfer case. Long story short....it does not work. The error I get when setting up the speedo is "No Signal". I am hooked to the pin 18 light blue w/black line which I believe comes from the DRAC and I expected it to work. I tried ground and no ground. Any ideas?? I could use some help on this. Thanks ballencd

Just a thought: have you individually tested that the VSS is working?

I assume it is working. When I took out the old speedo it was working but I don't know how to verify that.

Re: 1991 Suburban Speed Hut Speedo install problem
I would just take the signal straight from the transmission sensor to the gauge, bypassing the DRAC.

Re: 1991 Suburban Speed Hut Speedo install problem
I got it fixed. Had to install a "pull up" resistor on the signal line for the speedo to work.
Apparently when I pulled the factory dash I also pulled the pull up resistor. IT works great now. I still need to tilt all the gauges back so I can see them as the factory dash will not allow that. I am going to build a aluminum dash and reinstall the gauges. It might be hard to see in the photo but the gauges little toward the driver and make it hard to see them.
