Thinking of a 4l60e tranny, any help/suggestions please.
Long story short I can get a freshly rebuilt (and upgraded servo etc)4l60e tranny (I saw the reciept for 1800.00) for a couple of hundred out of a wrecked camaro. My question is:
Is it really possible to do this swap with out the computer components? Has anyone done this swap on a 350 before without a computer? How would I control the shift points without the Computer? Is this a good idea, even with the great price? Any suggestions would be really appreciated!! Shawn

I don't think it can be done economically. Inside are six solenoids that are fired by the PCM. Pressure control solenoid, 1-2 solenoid, 3-2 solenoid, 2-3 solenoid, Tcc PWM Solenoid and TCC solenoid. (don't ask me what the acronyms are for) Also the speedometer output is a electrical pulse rather than a cable. There is a fluid temp sensor, and switches that tell the PCM what gear the tranny is in. Maybe you can get it for cheap and turn around and sell it for a 700r4 tranny.
