adapting np 208 to 72 k20
any info on adapting the transfer case floor shift to a 1972 k20. it is different than the np 205 type

are you saying the np208 wont work in this model pickup? I may not have described correctly. the 205 was changed out for a 208 and now I want to adapt the transfer case floor shift and linkage to work with a 208

If the 208 is already in the truck chances are the trans was swapped as well. The 208 uses a different shifter that bolts to the floor. The 205 shifter bolts to the trans to TC adapter that's most likely gone. You might be able to fab a bracket to mount the 205 shift lever.

Is your truck a k vin 4wd or a later frame..post some pics..I don't think it's reasonable to utilize the 205 shifter...
