Impala rear coil (compressed dimension?)
Here's the deal. After a few years of using air shocks with my 5" lowered springs to haul engines, or whatever, I finally put real lowering shocks on the truck, so it rides nice, but can't haul a whole lot. My idea for a cheap solution is to use the helper bags (that go inside the coil) for an Impala or Caprice ('71-'96). They are $86 at Pep Boys, but I haven't been able to find a car to measure the compressed height of the spring (the ones at the yard had the axle hanging), so if any of you have a car you can measure, or know of this rigging, please post. Thanks.
