In the past my local shop let me go in the back and match up brake lines and hoses. If your shop won't escort you to the back, maybe you could have them bring out a few of the Dakota V8 lower hoses suggested by twoskies. I was curious, so I grabbed these numbers for V8 Dakota hoses:
89-91 5.2L V8: Gates 20145 (1.75" ID)
92-96 5.2L V8: Gates 21956 (1.75" ID)
97-99 5.2L V8: Gates 22287 (1.72" ID)
00-04 4.7L V8: Gates 22250 (1.72" ID)
00-03 5.9L V8: Gates 22251 (1.72" ID)
They all appear to have the same diameter on both ends. Of course it's hard to match up based on pics, but one of those might do the trick (22250, 22251 & 22287 below). I hope you don't mind the info - it's an interesting problem (and probably a frustrating one for you!)

With a lot of long water pump setups on C10s out there, someone in the future will benefit from your work. I hope you figure it out!

I don't mind the information at all! It's greatly appreciated! I will check those numbers. As I stated when I started this thread I can't be the only one having this issue. If we can find a hose that will work or possibly get someone to produce one, it will save someone else future frustration!
