Todd
35 Pro-Comps on 8 wide Outlaw II. Suspension...I've posted up how to do it in other posts, PM me if you can't find them (I'm not trying to be a dik but I've posted it several times, other people started it and I completed it, BUT it's not done and I haven't had it to the alignment shop yet so technically I can't say it works, but it is 6 lug disc with Hydroboost... |

Re: 72 c10 prerunner ideas...
Not tech, but here is a picture. Back in the old days it was one ton dually front coil springs and dual shocks on a hoop with the lowers coming off the upper control arm. Rear trailing arm again with 3/4 ton springs. The rear end had been converted to leafs when this picture was taken. Still running a 12 bolt with a weld on truss. This was in the mid 70's, tire sizes were only 32-33 inches!
Lots has changed since these days. Most kids daily drivers/prerunners are built to a higher standards than these old race trucks were! This was Dave Parsons either at Parker or Barstow, I forget which. He would race the local races, could not afford Baja. Mostly Parker, Barstow or Vegas. Also thought I would throw in an early version of Walkers Chevy built by Dick Russell. (Big Oly builder for Parnelli) Last edited by justcuz; 02-27-2010 at 08:01 PM. |

Re: 72 c10 prerunner ideas...
Here is some old school tech on a 2wd Blazer. Plated lower control arm, tie bar between lower control arm pivots front and rear, to keep crossmember from bending. The skid plate is bolted to the front tie bar and a bracket off the front of the frame. Rear springs are military wrap second leaf and boxed shackle. The rear axle was a 9" Ford trussed with disc brakes but he sold it and had a GM 10 bolt in it at the time the pics were taken. It was getting a 14 bolt semi-float prepared for it when the pics were taken.
