1985 Long bed to short bed. Whats really needed. Just brake lines?
If I convert a 85 long bed to short bed, I am thinking All I need is DS shortened and the brake line
for a short bed truck. So is it really only 2 things I need? I know the cut measurements and everything else. Just looking for what needs to be replaced so I can order the hard parts. DS would be the last thing to get cut. Thanks I will be doing a 1985 silverado build, and a DETAILED (because no one has done it) video on how to shorten a 73/87 C10 on my youtube channel. From fleetside to stepper |

I asked the same question and didn't really get a response.
I was under the impression that if you had a 20 gal tank, you would also have to change it to the 16 gal tank, but don't quote me on that. |

If you have a 20 gallon tank, you'll need a 16 gallon tank to take its place. The tank brackets can be reused, but you'll likely want new mounting bolts. If you're buying a new tank, go ahead and buy a new sender unit to go with it. The fuel filler hose and/or neck needs to be changed. I don't know about the fuel lines.

Guess Ill find out when I pull the bed. I will be doing a series of videos on this.
Not one long one. Worse case, I will pick up a Tanks inc tank. |

If your stepside doesn't have one with it, the fuel filler hose is different and hard to find. I am not sure anyone reproduces them for the stepside beds, least none that I can fine.

Just my recommendation, but do yourself a favour and get two 16 gal tanks, and get a switch for your dash and whatnot. Might as well, since you have access to everything. My SWB has only one tank and I can't take a relatively short roadtrip without stopping once or twice to fill.
