Rear bumper bracket holes in frame

I working on a 1968 C10 basket case project that was abandoned by the two previous owners. One of them cut the frame down to a short bed but did not drill any of the holes in the rear frame rails for the bumper brackets or the bolts holes that hold the box to the frame. Does anybody have a template with the locations or measurements of these holes?

Re: Rear bumper bracket holes in frame

Did they cut the frame down properly ?
Cut 12 inch's mid frame and 8 inch's back frame of the truck
This is to get the axle centre in the short box wheel well

I ask this I have a parts truck where its all cut behind the axle by a previous owner

Re: Rear bumper bracket holes in frame

it appears to be cut correct, but i just got back from the frame shop that verified everything is in the right spots. They did a few minor tweaks to get everything square but overall it was cut correctly....but the previous owner butt welded the frame together and I had to weld 1/4" thick fishplates on the inside of the frame to reinforce everything.

. What about clamping the desired bumper in place and using the bumper brackets as your template for where to drill the frame?

Re: Rear bumper bracket holes in frame

Coil spring rear....the frame is completely tore down and without the box on the frame i don't know how far back or up and down the bumper brackets need to be to fit correctly when the box finally goes back on.

Re: Rear bumper bracket holes in frame

Looks like the rear hole is 1.5” from the end of the frame, up 1.75”. The front hole is 6.375” from the end of the frame, up 2.5”. All bolts are half inch, so the holes should be 9/16”. This is for a coil spring truck using a sport bumper. I will post a pic shortly.
