Manual Trans Selections?
I'm interested in changing out my sm465 for a 4 or 5 speed and am wondering what kinda options do I have for changing trans with minimal fabrication. I expect to have to get the driveshaft shortened or lengthened but I'm more concerned with my current clutch linkages lining up right and about the shifter cause the sm465 appears to be shifted from the top (haven't gotten under the truck to confirm been raining lately).
So...what kinda options do I have? Anyone else do this kinda swap? Thanks for any info you guys can provide.

I own the sm465 also. And been told that the np435 is great switch, 4 spd. Actually use first gear for when driving. Plan on switching once i get enuff money for that.
If you get it, and get it done before me, lemme know how it went. |
