is a part of the shroud missing?
I feel like there are some parts missing. Sorry for poor quality images. It'sacamero phone.
It's a 1981 C30 that used to have a 454 and now has a 350. thanks, steve k. |

Don't know about yours but some of the 350's had an aluminum spacer block that was about 2-2 1/2 inches thick that moved the fan closer to the radiator to help to draw ait into fan. Can't tell from pics if you have or not.

I could be wrong, but I think the problem is that you have the whole radiator/shroud setup from the 454. My stock 350 setup has a different upper radiator support and a little wider shroud there than that. The fan isn't covered all the way by the shroud on mine, but more than what you have there.

Yup, there are two different shrouds/upper brackets. All small blocks (except 400) and 6 cylinders had one style, while the big block and 400 trucks had the one pictured.
To solve it easily, go get a spacer, one that goes between the pully and fan, that should solve your problem. You ideally want the fan 1/2 way in the shroud.

thanks a lot. got the spacer and the new clutch. all fits nicelly and looks like it belongs there.

If you still have problems I have a fan shroud for a small block in good shape.

I have to disagree with you on the shrouds. I have two 78’s, one is a 350 C-10, the other is a 400 K-10 and both have the deep metal panel with large shrouds. Both are factory AC trucks. However, my uncle has a 77 w/o air and it has a smaller shroud. Doug |

My C-10 was a 76,000 mile truck when I pulled the engine because the head cracked. It still had the GM lower radiator hose and the french clips on the exhuast manifolds when I bought it. It is a big 10, so I don't know if that has any thing to do with it. Doug |
