Hubcap Red

I'm sure it's been asked before, but not in a long time...has anyone found a close match to the original red color of the stock caps in a spray can?

Re: Hubcap Red

If you hate taping and painting, these are done in a very close orange red. https://www.ebay.com/itm/16433349549...MAAOSwAaJaMWME

The 66 cap pictured in that thread is an NOS cap with factory paint. It's only there as color reference next to the spray can red/orange.

If I do repaint those centers, I use shop made masking dies, which are simple/crude forms made by spreading body filler over a straight cap (which has first been coated with a release agent). The hardened filler is then removed and cut/shaped to cover what should not be painted. One piece covers roughly a three inch ring surrounding the center circle, and another tiny bit covers the center bowtie. Pop them on, spray the red, pull them off and the paint looks EXACTLY like factory. The little center bowtie cover is so small, it needs a piece of sticky tape on the back to keep it in place when spraying.
I'll see if I can find a photo.
