The above is from post #106. It appears that all 69 trucks start with "8" after the plant letter... ie. 9S8xxxxx. So if you see this, 70c10-08, please verify the vin. Thanks

Thanks for sharing! Guessing yours is a January build, but let's try to find out for certain.

A project like this is bound to have some errors and confusions... I think we're doing pretty good at staying on top of everything.

Re: The build date project

Here are some photos (Very poor photos) from a 71 C10 in a wrecking yard that I pulled the rear axle out of for my Burban. Hopefully they are useful. The build sheet was missing.
The build date on the door sticker is 12/70.
And I believe the VIN is CE1?12609628.

That's a helpful one. Looks like 1Z609628, which likely is an early December 1970 build. Thanks for posting!

I was going by the VIN number off of my S.P.I.D. I've got the protecto plate lying around somewhere if I can find it I will try to verify the VIN number but, this is all I could see on the S.P.I.D.

10/13/66 <build date <10/27/66...The rear axle has a 10/13 date code. I think the last digit of the "date produced" box is a "7." Is it possible the build date and the invoice date are the same date?
