Re: The build date project
67 chevy
7J153724 TBD - last 7J on our list 68 chevy 8S107167 09/67...guessing early Sept based on some of the August dates I see on the protecto plate 69 chevy 9J822357 11/04/68 < build date < 11/30/68... Wondering if the invoice date means the truck was built at that time... So perhaps build date prior to 11/13/68. 72 chevy 2A178844 TBD - last 2A on the list currently 71 Jimmy S133302 TBD - last S1 on our list Last edited by 402Bowtie; 08-28-2021 at 07:03 PM. |

Re: The build date project
Here are some photos (Very poor photos) from a 71 C10 in a wrecking yard that I pulled the rear axle out of for my Burban. Hopefully they are useful. The build sheet was missing.
The build date on the door sticker is 12/70. And I believe the VIN is CE1?12609628.

Re: The build date project
That's a helpful one. Looks like 1Z609628, which likely is an early December 1970 build. Thanks for posting!

Re: The build date project
Thanks guys. All I had with me was my phone camera and the truck was stacked on top of a 200X Suburban. I had to stand with my legs spread between the Suburban and the truck next to it to get the door jam sticker picture. And the SPID picture meant I had to carefully crawl in the cab. I did get a couple of trinkets out of the cab while up there though. I took a picture of the truck but it was so bad it was useless.
Oh the things we do for trucks. ![]() Just don't tell my old lady.
