Shocks will not keep your bump stops from hitting. That is the job of the springs, the shocks then dampen the effect of the spring from, well, springing. A good set of lowered springs is the best option. You can get the sway bar brackets from Early Classic Enterprises, www.earlyclassic.com.

I take the bump stops completely off on my trucks. It keeps you from hitting them all the time.

I simply cut mine down... no bumping, but still have the protection.

The difference between your cut spring and a spring designed to lower your truck is the load rate. You've effectivelylimited the weight that your springs can carry. If you use a spring that lowers your truck 3 inches but is still rated to carry the weight of the vehicle, you'll stay off your bumps. Same with the rear springs. If you ever plan to use your truck as a truck but want it lowered, buy springs that are still rated for 1/2 ton. It is important to relocate your rear shocks when you lower the back and to use an adjustable track bar to keep your rearend centered in the frame.
