GMC grill difference

Maybe I am wrong but I thought there was not a difference in the actual grill fitment on the 67 grill vs the 71 grill. Just a different front design. Curious as mine has 1/4 gaps to where the headlights sit in the eyebrows.

OEM or reproduction?

I could never get my gap to the headlights as close as you are saying with a reproduction grill I had. This was 10+ years ago. I think (but not sure) the differences were where the black paint was and the top bar?

The 67 grill is a repop can’t get the inner edge of the bulbs to gap right. Wondering if I change screws the to bulb retainers and go a little longer. My 71 grill is in great shape but I don’t want to use it on this truck

Could try fitting the 71 grill just to see if it solves the problem or is the same. That way you would know if its the grill or something else?

Re: GMC grill difference

I can't help you on the fitment issue but to answer your question, all 67-72 grilles have the same fitment. The top bar and surround changed with the hood in '69 but any year grille works. Look at the 68-70. Old hood to new hood with same grille.
