Running 255/35R20s in ft and 275/40R20s in rr. Yes i get a little inner fend scuff from time to time too. Very limited with the Vision wheels for size. but i haven't figured out how to gain clearance yet with welded inner fenders, but Im working on it. Drives like a dream.
Rear leafs ?

Thanx. My 72 has rear leafs and was kinda thinking of lowering it too , seems like all the kits are for coils , figured 73 and up rear might work on the rear too

My springs are 2-1/4 wide and the kit is for 2-1/2 wides so I did some fitment modify with the grinder, not a big deal.
Mine was ebay # 174805944299
very well made kit

My situation was I had a static 2/4 drop, but I wanted a bit more drop. That's why I tried bagging it. I could set my ride height where I wanted it, and drive. It was great for ride height, but I did not care for the bagged ride quality.

The coil overs allow me to set my ride height exactly where I like it. Not sure what the height is, I just know I like it. People ask me "What drop is that?" Answer - I'm not sure, but I like it.

I have finally found the settings on the dual adjustable coil overs to give me the ride quality I prefer.
I agree that coilovers are the right route and I'm about to start a conversion once I settle on which kit. I do really like the stance of your truck. Do you mind sharing tire and wheel specs?

We’re you able to get that thing lined up? Your ball joints have one heck of an angle to them. They won’t last long like that.

That is a great looking step! Color, stance, tire sizes…all right on the mark!

Yes all lined up. That pic was with no shims or anything. Yes it took a lot of shims but all is good. My alignment guy loved it

Re: Best 4/6 drop ride quality

OK everyone, we just got back from a 2K round trip to Montana with the C10. the ride was OK. I have 2.5" drop spindles and 4" drop coils with a 1" rubber spacer in the A arm bringing them back up to a 3" drop coil, also I am running Belltech 2104HA street shocks ft and rear, and a flip kit on the leafs in rear. I think I have a 5.5/ 7 drop not sure really. But the ride was great unless you hit some of the overpasses on the hwy, I know I hit the bump stops in front more than one time and it was a hard bonce for sure. I installed bump stops on the lower A arms with 1" of clearance to the crossmember. Does anyone know if the coil over kits will better the ride? I really like the stance. and I know that the rear is fixable too but was not the ride problem, it was the front mostly..

The key to ride quality is effective spring and shock rate at the wheel. The big advantages to coilover kits is that they are often adjustable shocks for tuning to your liking, springs are easy to change, and the packaging allow for both the spring and shock to both be as close to the wheel as possible so the wheel rates are optimized......

With all of that said, a high quality adjustable shock with a quality spring with the right spring rate should in theory perform identical. I say all of that to say that if you like the set up you have, you may consider just changing to nice adjustable shocks and dial up compression side or possibly adjust your spring rate.

Re: Best 4/6 drop ride quality

If you want to maintain the current stance and improve ride quality, you are going to have to use an after market control arm. That is the only way you can get more clearance at the bump stop.

I hope this helps some more. the bump stops I put in are 3" tall with 1/2" cut off making them 2-1/2". The only time I was hitting them and thank god I did or the tires would have ripped out the fender was on the really bad overpasses. I think that the adjustable shocks are likely the answer.
its only money right?
