Kickdown cable location

Got another question, trying to reinstall the kick-down cable on my 70 cst10.
I know where it attaches on the carb. But I am wondering if I might be missing a bracket for the adjustable part of the cable. Before I had it installed on the coiil bracket, under the coil.
Me and my son have a on-going argument I say it goes there, he says it does not.
Am I missing a bracket, just because it was always there, don't make it right..

would anyone happen to have a pick or some incite.

Thanks,
Trey

Re: Kickdown cable location

It has a dedicated bracket that's separate but sits on top of the plug wire stands. Mounts using back two manifold bolt holes on driver's side. At least it's that way on a 72

WELP, if that's the bracket, I can say don't have that one anymore.Maybe time for a little modification.
Thanks for the pic.

Visit a junkyard, there are lots of different brackets out there that do the trick, although they may not be the factory correct one.

Re: Kickdown cable location

If you change the location ( on the intake man ) you may need a longer or shorter kick down cable. Pay attention to what year you get the bracket off of.
