GMC Turn Signal Replacement Light Socket
I see a lot of threads on here about people trying to replace GMC turn signal sockets. I am making this post so that people looking for this information in the future don’t have to ask again… If only we all used the search function! I went to AutoZone and bought a Dorman 85818 replacement light socket. It takes an 1157 bulb and fits great into the housing. It is Chinese made, so it may need a little tweaking like mine did. Something that I will fix in the future is that the wires are a thinner gauge than the original socket, but for now it will work. At least I have front turn signals now

Re: GMC Turn Signal Replacement Light Socket
After 50 years of use things can have some damage and corrode, become unreliable (Never designed for the time frame of use). Yes, your lights still work. Some may not. I do not see why there may not be a replacement part needed?

Some people aren’t as fortunate as you and wind up with a truck Bubba once owned. One of my sockets had been replaced with something that didn’t fit the truck. The other is original to the truck.
