next project possibly---pics

yesterday me and terry (sbc_406) went on a 500 km drive looking for trucks, he was looking for a 2wd shortbox and we didnt find any but we did spot this truck and checked it out, its parked at the owners parents house about 1 1/2 hours from where i live, the owner lives in my town though which is pretty ironic, anyways is a big back window 67 chevy short fleet 4x4, its been parked for years i was told and at one point it was forsale, i still havent got a hold of the owner but im going to try him back tonight, i wonder what would be a fair price for this truck, its got a small block but i dont know much about it or even if it ran when it was parked, here are a couple pics, what do you guys think its worth ?

Sweet Find! Looks pretty solid. I'd hate to see how much trash has ended up in the cowel vents being parked under that tree tho...

it might have a 327, too...what are the badges on the doors? CST or Custom? depending on shape offer him $800 and work from there.

It has "CST" badges on the original passenger door, however the driver side door is off a different truck!
what a good trip it was Derek

Looks like a good find Derek, let us know if you end up as the new owner of that jewel!

Edit: One more thing, if you do get this truck, and have plans for lift, upgrades, etc., let me know as I've been through all of that with mine. Mine was bone stock when I got it and I learned a lot about what works and what doesn't as far as upgrades. Breeh would be another board member that could give you some info that might be useful before buying it.

HEY GUYS, just talked to the guy, kinda bummed out, first of all, its not a true shortbox, its sitting on a 78 blazer frame, second-he said the box has been shortened, i didnt notice but i bet if i looked at it again i would, and third, he wants 3 grand for it, i think that is a bit steep, if it was a true shortie id do it but not in this case, it was parked 10 years ago and a couple years ago he fired it up and said it has a strong 350....i think ill keep looking for another one, unless his price drops drastically

Bummer

Sad to hear the news...
Always bites hard when it turns out this way. Like you said...move on.
I once drove 2-1/2hrs for a 67 4x4 step that was being sold by the original owners son and had been parked for 18 years! We brought the trailer with us thinking it was an amazing find...only to find out where it sat for the last 18 years was on dirt the old girl was literally melting back to mother earth
