Panhard bar and sway bar question

Using other members post as a guide, I bought a Rear Sway Bar from a 95 Nissan Pathfinder, to mount on my 70 C-10.
When I mount this Sway Bar, do I need to leave the Factory Pan hard bar in place? Or would that be overkill?
Everything on the suspension is factory stock with exception to the Gabriel Coil-over shocks on front and rear.
I’m all ears

100% yes you need to leave the panhard bar. It locates the axle and prevents movement side to side. A swaybar does not have that capability. Swaybar just transfers weight from one side of the vehicle to the other.

Re: Panhard bar and sway bar question

Sway Bars & Panhard bars have different functions.

A Panhard bar is a must for the T/A set-up. The sway bar can help or hurt depending on the set-up. They are not a Guarantee to be an improvement over not having one. They have been known to cause the rear end of a truck/car to come around quicker than expected when pushed to the limit.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Re: Panhard bar and sway bar question

Also make sure the Panhard Bar is installed properly ... when it isn’t when you get about 50 mph your truck will really feel squirrely ... from a friend
