Will a 275/45R20 fit on the front of a 72 C10?

Re: 275/45R20 on front?
went and looked at mine, a 71 C20 they are 265/50/20, I've lowered it 3" on the front and 4" on the rear, dont know if it will give you a place to start , but they're not rubbing and fit inside the fenderwell, before I lowered it there was 3" clearance front and 4" rear. hope this helps

I run a 255 50.20 on a 5.25 backpacking 8" rim. Back spacing is key to prevent rubbing

Re: 275/45R20 on front?
everyrthing still stock, im running 2004 chevy 8lug wheel offsets and actually had to space the rears with 1.5 spacers to get them to fill the wheel well better due to the different axle width front to rear. The only issue after I lowered it the 3" and 4" was that the top two front fenderwell bolts rubbed on bumps and turns. Removed them and got new shocks, no more rubbing. I had purchased the rear tubs, but sold them when they werent needed

Re: 275/45R20 on front?
72Mario. I'm looking at 275/45R20 on 20x8.5 or 20x10s. I would prefer 20x10s if they will fit. Looking at American Racing VN506 or VN215 if possible. What is minimum offset that you would think would fit on the front with a 3/5 drop?

Re: 275/45R20 on front?
Bump back to the top for more replies hopefully. I'm planning to get 275/45R20s for the front and rear on 0mm or 6mm offset depending on which wheels I go with. Probably going to only lower 2.5" with spindles. Maybe lower about 4" in the rear.

Re: 275/45R20 on front?
Front Wheels are 20x8.5 - Offset: -6 mm
Tires are 235R/45-20 No issues with rubbing. Truck is lowered 4 inches. I think the 275 will be too wide for the front. My 235 are as wide as I can see fitting without issues. I am using the 235'S WITH /20x9.5 wheels on the back. 0 offset, they fit fine there. But are still close. Last edited by Accelo; 10-04-2021 at 11:42 AM. |

Re: 275/45R20 on front?
265/45R20 on 20x8.5 with 0 offset. Clears. Tried a 10” front wheel and it rubbed the lower control arm turning with 0 offset. Wheel spacer would help but then the tire would rub the inner fender
275/45R20 would work on this wheel and be ok. I had to move my lower shock mount cause it rubbed the tire but I also have porterbuilt control arms |

Rear is a No Limit 4 link. No idea on the drop. Just adjusted the coilovers until it was ~1/2” higher in the rear |
