Removing dash

How do you remove the lights button and the Wiper button ( i removed the screw for the actual button, but can't figure out how to remove the round peice below it)
Can anyone talk me through this?
I'm sure its something really really simple.

I'm doing this to install my new dash.

I'm having trouble remembering, but I want to say that there is a button that you can reach up from behind and depress and the knob and arm will pull out.
Or are you talking about the chrome rings that sit under the knob? I want to say that those just unscrewed but I'm not 100% on that.

light switch, you have to reach under the dash, push the little button on the switch, and pull out the bayonet while pushing the button. the wipers knob is held on with a set screw.

For the ignition switch, you will notice a little hole above the key slot to the side. Put your key in the ignition, turn it to ACC, stick a paper clip or pin in the little hole, and pull on the key and the lock tumbler should pull out with the key. The back of the housing unthreads like you said, and it will all come off.

You pull the light switch to the "ON" position,. Then reach under the dash and on top of the actual light switch is a round plunger, While depressing it pull the switch handle Completely out. It's best if you disconnect the Battery, because doing this leaves the lights ON....

On the Wiper switch, There is a allen head set screw on the back, bottom of the handle, Loosen or remove it, the handle will pull off.

Then you have to remove the two chrome round pieces that are behind the switch handles. Those take a special tool,,,,,,,, Take a pair of needle nosed pliers, with sharp ends, You'll see what to do.
