Does anybody else have trouble with a Yukon radio draining the battery.

Re: Yukon Radio

i have not - why are you suspecting the radio specifically?

Though not common, one thing worth checking is to make sure your underhood utility light actually shuts off when closing the hood - it won't gravity rock and click off until hood is almost shut, so you kinda gotta watch closely. Not likely the culprit, but worth checking.

Best way to chase a batt drain is with a voltage drop check as you (or hopefully an assistant) pulls individual fuses one at a time.

Re: Yukon Radio

Be sure to check the sunvisor lights as well, mine were staying on due to a bad door switch.

Re: Yukon Radio

Todays up date. While trouble shooting, the battery went bad. They replaced it under warranty. No under hood light. I will check the voltage tomorrow morning.

Re: Yukon Radio

Bad door switches will cause the BCM to not put various higher current draw components into sleep mode.

If your replacement battery doesn't fix the problem it'd be worth paying attention to how long it takes the dome lamp to shutdown after you close the door.

Re: Yukon Radio

The dome light goes out in e few minutes. When I have the hatch open the light stays on. Isn't it supposed to go out after awhile?

It's supposed to go to sleep eventually but a bunch of BCM functions stay more active til the doors, trunk, and hood are closed.
