Had to make adapter plates. You can buy these from Holley for $90.00. Or I went to my local metal supply and bought 2, 6x6x1/4" plates for $5.00. An hour later with some cutting, grinding, drilling, tapping and painting, this is what you get. (Let the paint dry over night) I used the old LS mounts and the stock, poly small block mounts for patterns.

Re: 4l80E/NP205 (Yes, another one)
If you place this in the factory small block mounting holes in the frame (the rear ones) one of the LS holes lines up. There is plenty of room for the starter and A/C.
Now for $20.00 in 1" X .120 DOM tubing and a little time with a bender and welder, I will tie the 2 sides together. Paint. Sure beats $400.00 for a crossmember kit. Now I just have to hope it holds up while 4 wheeling. |

Re: 4l80E/NP205 (Yes, another one)
Sorry for falling asleep on this everyone. It still will be done, eventually. The truck is currently completely stripped and being restored. One thing led to another and now it is being painted, power doors, motor rebuild, serpentine, fuel injection, the whole 9. I should probably start a build thread for it, and when I get to the point of installing my 4l80 I will post the details of that process here!

Re: 4l80E/NP205 (Yes, another one)
Thanks for this thread. I to am also doing a 4L80e swap and have been searching for all the details so when I start I hope to turn it around quickly. It seems everyone has some variation.
I have an 87 v2500 TBI 350/400/208. I bought a TBI 454/4L80e out of a low mileage 1991 motorhome. I have the computer and complete harness. The harness has some sort of trans module but I havent had the time to study it yet. I havent seen any 208s used with the 4L80 so it looks like I may need to pick up a 205 tcase. |

Re: 4l80E/NP205 (Yes, another one)
I know this thread is five months old but I thought maybe someone might be interested in an option that I didn't see mentioned here. I have not used these people for any adapters (my NV4500 bolts directly to my round 6 bolt NP205) but I thought this might help someone else out.
http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/motor...ngagement.html I think the Trail Tech Fad web site is under construction but at least it points you in the right direction if you are looking at an alternative for an adapter.
