what is this worth??
I recently sold my ford (yes i know) and have been looking for another truck. I ran across a 1985 gmc single axle 1 ton 4x4, with a new 454 ,4 gear .truck runs great, drives good. it has new tires ,new wheels, new starter and slave cylinder also new clutch. body is a 6 of ten ,interior is a 7 , runs like a 10. ac is there but doesnt blow cold. sorry no pics. anybody want to take a crack what they think it might be worth. he wants 3500.00 . any feedback is appreciated.

sounds cheap to me, a single wheel 1 ton should have a dana 60 front end, which is worth a bunch. But, as with any deal, try to deal them down, this is so common, that a guy usually asks more than they want for the truck, just so they can deal down.
Good luck David

that sounds like a good deal to me, it will have the sought after SRW dana 60 front and also a hydraulic clutch as an added bonus. i would offer him $2500 and see what happens.

your left nut! i wish i could've found a deal like that before i started building my truck. i ended up paying $800 for a K30 DRW truck, and the only parts from it im using are the front axle, which i'm going to have to swap to SRW hubs on.

buy it
then if you find something wrong with it part it out. the front end is 1000 all day anywhere. 454's are not easy to find in good shape anymore. what kind of transfer case? 205?

started putting 208s behind the 465s sometime in the early 80s, my 81 K30 had a 205 in it from the factory.

hmm...i know that k/10s and k/20's had the 208 behind the 465, but k/30's used the 205 until 91.5. actually, i think the 203 and 205 are the only two transfers that came in k/30's. who knows, i could be wrong, and nothing GM has ever done was set in stone.
the CUCV's did use the 208, why? I don't know. Only one of the models used the 205, and i think it was a tactical shelter carrier or some such, but that was only because the 205 has a pto port and the 208 doesnt. perhaps it was to cut weight? I think the 208 weighs around 80 lbs and the 205 is 135 or so.

1969 gmc , i wouldnt be suprised if the transfer case has been swapped. i checked the sheet in the glove box and it was a 350 truck originally. but it is a srw 1-ton. this truck has no options hardly besides ac . i kinda like that. i like sh*t simple!
