Super Sport option?
I just saw an ad on Marketplace for a 72 SWB
It claims to have “the Super Sport option” It shows the picture of a spid, with it listed as 1YE945. Is this legit? From the pictures on the add it appears to be a “Frankentruck” project that needs to be completed. And the $14K price is a little out there. Last edited by LockDoc; 12-28-2021 at 12:28 PM. Re: Super Sport option?
It’s a Cheyenne Super, YE9 The “spor” was often seen on the spid of St Louis built trucks. It’s nothing to get excited about

Re: Super Sport option?
It's just below the rare Corvette option...

Re: Super Sport option?
I really like the cigarette burn directly over the wheel base.
It appears that it also started life about 20 inches longer as well. I know it is a CE but there isn't any difference as far as I know. were it a swb it would be CE 10734 I do believe. But.... I've been wrong before.

Too many different colors of major body panels, and then what you pointed out on the Vin. Good catch The glove box door came off a Cheyenne Super, But it anyone’s guess where the rest of the the truck came from. I’m a purist. I own a 70 Custom 10 (I’ve owned it for 30 years), that is all original, except the grille, that was replaced at some time before I got it, but it is a Factory replacement piece. It irritates me when someone tries to nitpick my truck, then I see ones like this, that these individuals try to pass off as “Numbers Matching”, which we know means nothing in the truck world. |
