Same here. I have a custom upholstery shop, and I'm trying to design the interior for my personal burb. I guess I'll just have to figure it out. Haha!

Here is a tire on one mounted up in the same location as the photo I've seen of the factory
bracket location, but behind this tire is a custom unit bracket nicely done.

it gives you some idea of how it looked. As an afterthought, I don't see how it could have been an option on the Burbs with the third-row seat option. Maybe thats why it's not often seen.

My buddy has a 64 and the spare is underneath in the back if you didn’t want it there you could get a spare wheel well and weld it in behind third row and make a flush cover

65 Suburban in the family since 1971. Spare tire is outside under the rear just like a modern truck. Fuel tank had a big scoop hollowed out of it to make room for the tire

But now my problem is I need to replace the fuel tank. Cant find any tanks with the tire cut-out. I think I might need to move the spare inside also.

I thought that I had to replace my tank also. It had sat for 30 years, no gas cap and was extremely rusted. Took it to a radiator shop in Kingman AZ and they boiled it out 3 times then soldered as needed. Then coated the inside and outside. Been good for 2 years so far. The guys has been in biz for 40 years. $160. Incredible
