Seat Bracket Question
-
Hi everyone. I'm just looking for some information on these seat brackets, not looking to sell them at this time. I usually hang out over on the '67-'72 side so I'm not familiar with the '73 up stuff. Is anyone familiar with these or know if they are factory or aftermarket? They don't look home made to me. I'm not sure where I even got them.... Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, LockDoc

Re: Seat Bracket Question
It looks like somebody did a clean job, but I'm pretty sure that those were produced by an individual. The top piece looks like a cut down bracket for an 88 to 98, then welded to a piece of bent plate which I'm assuming follows the floor contour of a 73 to 87.

Re: Seat Bracket Question
Nice to see you over here Doc...LT is on it! I just morphed some 88-98 brackets to install a later model seat into my 85. Except mine was for a 60/40 seat that required more than the two brackets you have. Yours are for a full bench seat. First photo of the modified results, second photo of the brackets before going under the grinder.

OK, Thanks a lot guys. I will look at them closer to see where they cut them and how they welded them together. LockDoc

Re: Seat Bracket Question
Of all the seats I have stripped, I have never seen anything like that on any of the 73-87

Re: Seat Bracket Question
Lock Doc, I borrowed this from Gregski. You can see what the 88 through 98 brackets look like before they're cut down. They are splayed on the table here. Your custom brackets just contain the upper part of the OBS seat brackets.
