My truck had a base/clear paint job in the mid-'80s when my parents-in-law still owned it. The section below the lower belt molding is supposed to be white, and I want to put it back that way at some point. The clear is starting to peel, so something will have to be done. I'm no good at body work, though. Five years ago it was about $300 for materials to paint the roof while I had the old shell off, and before the new shell was installed. Of course, the hugger orange is made from the two most expensive colors.
