corvair steering box
anyone used a reversed corvair steering box? Im looking for something I can use that will keep the drag link running horizontal. Ive also seen a Toyota 4x4 pickup box used on F100's. Just looking for ideas as my stock box has a lot of slop in it that cant be adjusted out. thanks.

Re: corvair steering box
A Corvair steering box as cute as it is barely strong enough to stand up to a T bucket where they are used because they are easy to reverse and polished up they look nice.
They were built for cars that had an absolute max of 950 lbs on the front end in the Heaviest of all Corvairs and not a truck that has 1830 lbs on the front end. The Toyota 4x4 trucks with that box have a front end weight similar to an AD truck.

Re: corvair steering box
I have reversed Corvair boxes for use on Model As. mr48chev is probably right about them being light-duty.
