Ha! Finally someone who uses that brighter orange chevy paint. All of the motors that i've seen lately have been more of a dull orange rather than a bright orange like my motor and yours. Lookin' good Here's a picture of what I mean by blaze-type orange, this is one of my motor I just finished.

Engine looks great - I too am waiting to be able to fire up my 454 for the first time - just need the body guy to do a little more before it comes home and I can get her fired up. What intake and carb are you going with?

thinking about an Air Gap and 650 Holley. I already have the carb. The paint is Dupla-Color Chevy Orange -Red. Thats what it says on the can.

Are you running headers?? What brand ??

Do you think the 650 will be enough carb?

I'm using DynoMax Cerama-coat headers, part number 86022 for the 67-87 2wd BBC - they worked in my 69 K20 with some frame grinding.

We'll have to see about the Carb. On your headers, how does the flange look? Does it have welded rings around the ports that are machined or is it all flat?

Steve, here is a photo I saved a while back from Dynomax or somewhere that they used to represent was my header.

May not be my exact headers, but I do believe that is what my flange looked like.

I did my engine with that Dupli Color too. Unquestionably...the best paint I've ever used

Hmmm, I've been wondering if my 725 Demon would be enough on my 350 ZZ3.
