Door Panel Nut Replacement
I'm replacing some of the interior door panel nuts on my 69 C20 that were rusted out. I have the correct replacements and have replaced all of them except the one nearest the hinge since it's enclosed by sheetmetal behind it. I'm wondering if anyone has been successful replacing this nut or is welding a nut or using a plastic/nylon license plate nut insert about the only good options? Since I have the correct replacements it would be nice to use them.
Welding a nut in or using a license plate insert were discussed in this thread: https://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vbo...d.php?t=484966 Thanks |

Re: Door Panel Nut Replacement
I recently replaced 4 (2 on each door) of those nuts.. I used regular "farm variety" square nuts.. I slightly enlarged the hole so that the nut had to be forced into the hole. Set my Tig welder on low and applied a couple spot welds on the outside edge of each nut. A little paint work and the job was finished. That was about 2 years ago, and they are still holding..

Re: Door Panel Nut Replacement
I used the plastic license plate nuts. Worked great.
