Frame brace kit

Has anyone used the HPI Customs frame brace kit P/n sum-770820. I’m looking hard at it and want to know your opinion on it if you have one, there’s only two reviews and they couldn’t be more opposite of each other. Would you get it again, how stiff does it make the truck, does it predictably shift weight when going around corners? Things like this I want to know because the purpose I’m building the truck for is SCCA events like the silver state classic and autocross events. Any input is good input even if it’s a bad review.

The 'brace' kit starts around pg2. It's not done so all he can tell you about it so far is installation thoughts.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

Re: Frame brace kit

I have been looking into the bracing kit since im swapping a leaf spring chassis over to coil overs. The frame is super whippy right now and definitely needs something. I cant answer your questions but I remember seeing this kit on an one of the you tube videos of the roadkill guy lucky. Might want to check that out.

Re: Frame brace kit

I’ve seen lucky videos and he doesn’t really review it or show it’s instillation so much as he says he has one and that it saved the under side of his truck from a worse beating than what it got

Re: Frame brace kit

Man, this is an old thread....I've installed one in my frame. HOLY HELL how stiff it makes the frame. That being said, it isnt for the weak hearted to install. >>>PITA<<< Make sure your numbers are right before you make it permanent. TONS of bolts. ITs like squeezing a 1" pipe through a 1/2" hole.
