62 235 to 350 swap
does anyone know if i need to change the frame mounts to do this or does it drop right in. thanks mike

yeah, i did it to mine, youll have to get some frame mounts and engine mounts off a later model, i used some off a 72, but ones from 63-72 will work... the 235 should just have a single mount in the middle at the front the other mounts will put one on each side... if you go back with an automatic youll have to cut out the transmission mounts (which bolt to the bellhousing)and use a crossmember to mount the transmission at the tailshaft, also the bellhousing for the 235 wont work with a 350..... another thing too is that the 62s 235 had a slave cylinder to engage and disengage the clutch so you might have to convert it too, youd have to find a setup off a later model for that as well, one good thing i found out was that the old 235 radiator works extremely well for keeping a v8 cool..

what headers did you use for the v8 swap, also any pictures of your auto tranny crossmember and dual exuast?

i originally used the manifolds off a 65, im sure headers off for that year will work too, the crossmember i built out of 2" square tubing...ive got my engine out now, im going back with a big block, so ill have to find headers to work, probably some for an early camero for ground clearance since my trucks very low, i have a pic that if you look hard you can see the manifolds
