CUCV wheels on a K20?

Tire shop said to chain them to a tree and to your truck and hope for the best... I thought outside the box and got a porta-power and stretched the run flats inside the tire and was able to work them out. It was not fun.


That tire shop never had any 63 or 91 series maintenance kids working there I see. Get a good CGU-1B and a tire iron and those radial rubber inserts are super fun to change. Been there, done that...

Also people looking at CUCV rims, be advised the Blazers were 6 Bolt and the trucks were 8. CUCV's were being phased out for Active Duty in the early 90's. I got to drive them on the Autobahn and it was fun. When I left that unit most all were replaced by HMMWV's except the contact trucks. Took a while for the Army to get replacements on that model.
