Using van hydroboost - will van master cylinder work?

Is anyone using the master cylinder off their hydroboost donor vehicle? This came off a 2009 express 3500 van. If so... The van did not have a proportioning valve. Do still need to run one on the C10? Photo of van's master cylinder is attached

Re: Using van hydroboost - will van master cylinder work?

I would say yes.

The van is a full bodied vehicle and is going to gave a lot more weight over the rear wheels than a pickup does.

I would suggest an adjustable prop valve, so that you can tune what it really wants, rather than trying to match an off the shelf replacement.

I’m using one off a 2009 silverado 2500HD in my 72 K20. I ditched the plastic master cylinder and used a new Napa master cylinder for a 72 K20 (my truck) on the Silverado HD Hydroboost unit which allowed me to use the OE proportion valve from my K20.

Hope that helps.

does the standard C10 master cylinder bolt right up to your 09 hydrobooster?

Mine did.

Discs front and rear? Or drums? The master cylinder will have a residual check valve for drums.

Disk/disk.

I ask because from my research the newer (07ish and up) GM hydroboosters havr a different bore where the master cyl attaches
