Tail pipe tip question

My son in-law got a family pickup. At one time he says it had an exhaust tip that split from a single into dual and had a small heat sheild on it. Is anyone familiar with this option? Pics would be great if you have them.

Are you talking about the factory setup?

Re: Tail pipe tip question

Yes, it was a factory option. Family member took the truck into the woods and crushed it. Shop cut it off and replaced it with a standard style. They throw the factory tip out before he could get it and try and save it.

Re: Tail pipe tip question

I found this older post that mentions the factory heat shield
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s....php?p=8596326

Is this what you're referring to? Heres an example from the parts catalog showing the dual exit with heat shield.
