Blocks or springs
Do I really need springs in the back? Will it sit level if I use blocks. I'm fixing this up for my 13 year old. I don't think we will thrash on it too much.

if you dont plan on driving it hard blocks should be ok... but they still may cause spring wrap, or axle wrap under acceleration even on the street... but people still use them.

I have 4" blocks on my rear springs. 10-20 years ago rear springs for lift where pretty much unheard of. With 4" I never really had a problems with spring wrap but that really depends on the condition of your springs. If ya do have a problem you can always add some sort of traction or ladder bars.

Try going with springs. I had 4" blocks on my 74, what a bumpy no flexen piece of junk. if you can afford to go with springs please do so. I was inbarrased by going over a 4' hill when my driver side tire was hung up in the air because there was no release with the blocks in back.
