Wind noise after new weather strip install

So my old door weather strip was shot. Purchased Precision brand online and rebuilt the passenger side door. The vent window and door to cab seals are great but still have wind noise going down the road. I listened while my son drove and discovered the noise is mostly coming from the top and rear of the main window. The new channel felt that goes along the top of the window opening down into the door is much wider than the window is thick. The window itself just kind of rattles around. Not sure if the gap is supposed to be that big, almost twice the thickness of the glass. Has anyone else had this problem?

Did you replace the glass run channel?

Yes, the kit had all new parts, nothing old remains. The channel along the front of the window is tight, it is the flexible piece that goes along the top and rear that seems too big.

Looks to me like the new felt is much thinner than the old stuff. I even dug some of the old out of the garbage to confirm. Anyone else run into this?

I didn't run into that the last time I replaced one, but that was quite a few years ago, before I bought my Blazer.

With the Blazer I just ask, "WHAT WIND NOISE?"

I had a Blazer years ago, fully understand what you're talking about.
