Corvette rearend or CPP coil over conversion
Guys, back again with another question for this great site. You all are full of great wisdom and I need to pick some brains.
I have a nice 67 steeper and cant make my mind up. I have fine tuned leafs, C notch and axle flip now and it is just to stiff like a truck would be. First chose is CPP coil over conversion from leafs to the trailing arms Second is installing a C3 vette rearend. Both ways would use Viking shocks as they have proved there capability's. They would have 600lb springs, my question is has anyone done the CPP conversion and how smooth is the ride. I know how the vette conversion rides. For me i think the CPP kit would be much easier to do but will it be smooth? Chris |

Re: Corvette rearend or CPP coil over conversion
I would go with the coil overs.
I restored a 71 C3 front to back. The rear end on those have many parts that make it expensive to build properly. I ran a VBP composite rear spring and it road firm but very livable. It would take a ton of fab work to make it fit. If you do go Corvette maybe a C4? I believe there is a company that makes a kit to adapt the C4 to a C10. If you do go coil over spend the extra money for double adjustable damping shocks so you can tune the ride. |

Re: Corvette rearend or CPP coil over conversion
Thanks today i removed my new Blistens on the rear and found that the springs are pretty soft. So, I bought a set of Vikings double adjustable and think I will be fine.
Thanks again Chris |
